KTRK drops AccuWeather Channel

Today, ABC-owned KTRK dropped the AccuWeather Channel from 13.3 in favor of a standard-definition simulcast of the LiveWell Network, which already airs on 13.2.

A call to the station confirmed that the AccuWeather Channel is no longer available.

It’s possible that ABC’s deal with AccuWeather to provide the automated channel has ended. Wikipedia (yes, I know) says WABC has dropped the channel as well.

  1. WTF where am i ganna get my weather /temperature from now? I hope another ch. gets it fast.btw 57.4 is on color bars any idea whatr ganna end up there?

  2. Did you happen to ask what the purpose of the SD simulcast is?

    • The statement about Accu-weather no longer being available was all the information she had. I’m pretty sure it was a corporate decision; I read on Wikipedia that WLS has dropped it too.
