Universal Sports to change from OTA to cable

Broadcasting and Cable reports today that NBC’s Universal Sports channel is set to change from an over-the-air digital multicast channel to exclusive cable and satellite distribution.

The plan is to take the channel to cable and satellite by January 2012. Universal Sports already has launched on DirecTV.

Universal Sports is currently carried on KIAH channel 39.3 and Comcast channel 319.
